a Sunday club for people who make things

The Egg Club

“the egg club” in large serif letters. A golden egg has cracked open in the middle, and people tumble out of it with laptops, books, pizza, coffee, a camera, headphones and a disco ball.

01 What is this

The Egg Club is a Sunday ritual for people who’d rather make something than talk about making something.

Who comes.

No CVs, no titles at the door. Bring whatever you’re good at.

  • and

hover a name— everyone has a reason to be here

02 Why bother

Ankara has almost six million people. Somehow you’re still building alone at 2am.

The interesting people are out there — the engineer with forty side projects, the designer who can’t stop tinkering, the researcher, the student, the friend who keeps soldering things. They’re just stuck in the wrong rooms:

  • Panels.
  • Lanyards.
  • Mixers with name stickers.
  • “Let’s circle back.”
  • Pitch-deck karaoke.

so we made a better room ↓

One long table. Too much pizza. A deadline at midnight.

03 A day at the club

Noon to midnight,
roughly.

  1. Doors

Coffee, introductions, a wall of sticky notes. Name tags optional. Opinions mandatory.

  2. Crack

Anyone can pitch an idea in sixty seconds. Half-baked is the house style.

  3. Nest

Teams form around whatever sounds most fun. Strangers become co-founders of a very silly thing.

  4. Incubate

Heads down. Build it, break it, build it again. Mentors wander around with snacks and opinions.

  5. Pizza

Non-negotiable. Laptops closed, twelve boxes open, one ongoing debate about pineapple. The second, better idea usually shows up here.

  6. Hatch

Five-minute demos, everybody claps. Working is encouraged. Ambitious and broken also counts.

  7. Afterglow

Cold pizza, the last metro home, and a group chat that keeps going all week.

04 Who shows up

A different mix every Sunday.

You don’t need to be a founder, an engineer, or even sure what you want to make. You just need to be curious and a little impatient.

05 House rules

The rules of Egg Club.

Recited at noon, every Sunday, before anyone opens a laptop.

  1. The first rule of Egg Club

You do not talk about Egg Club.

  2. The second rule of Egg Club

You DO talk about Egg Club.

  3. The third rule of Egg Club

If someone yells “it works!”, everyone stops and looks.

  4. And the last rule

If this is your first Sunday at Egg Club, you have to build.

06 Get in the carton

Nice to meet you, friend. What do you make?

You’re in the carton, friend.

We’ll email you before the next Sunday with the address and the menu. Bring a laptop, an idea, or just an appetite.
